Supermarket Customer Loyalty Programs
Customer loyalty programs are a great way to save. Under these schemes you build up credits of points by shopping with a particular store.
In Australia two of the biggest loyalty programs are offered by Coles and Woolworths.
Coles and Woolworths
Coles offer their Flybuys program. The name of this program can be misleading. While using your customer loyalty points for flights an option, there are many other options as well. These include using any accrued points for additional shopping or putting them towards special offers. Likewise Woolworths offer the Everyday Rewards program.
You don’t just earn points for purchases at Coles and Woolworths. Each store has a range of ‘partner’ stores where you can also earn points.
Little Known Programs
It may be that there are some customer loyalty programs that you do not even know you are a member of. For example, maybe the telecommunications company you use has a loyalty program. I know there is one with Telstra. It is called Telstra Plus, but I bet many of its members do not know about it. It can be found at https://plus.telstra.com.au/
Cross Company Loyalty Programs
There are also cross company loyalty programs. One company may offer discounts to clients of another. One example is Suncorp and United Petrol. Customers of Suncorp who put the relevant app on their phone are eligible for a 4c a litre discount on petrol, by showing that app at any United Petrol station.
VIP Cards
If you enjoy a coffee with friends, we recommend the Coffee Club VIP card. It allows the purchase of two coffees for one another benefits. You will find many other ‘chains’ and clubs also offer discounts for members, so if you are not sure, find out.
