Aeroglen’s Touch Park

Touch Park in Aeroglen is the home of touch football in Cairns. It’s a great place to take your dogs. For kids, it has a playground and a BMX track.

It is a great public space that is controlled and maintained by the local Council and enjoyed on a daily basis by local residents.

Touch Park Football

The space is home to the Cairns Pirates Touch Football Association. Indeed the grounds have long been the home of touch football in Cairns, hence the name. However, many events are held a the park, including school sports and miscellaneous community events.

Where is Touch Park?

You will find this Council run green space on the west side of Aeroglen Drive in the suburb of Aeroglen, on the north side of Cairns.

Touch Park Dog Park

There is also a fenced Council ‘dog off-leash’ area located at the southern end of the football fields. It is between the southern boundary of the sporting fields and the southern vehicle access (between Aeroglen Drive and the mangrove lined creek). There are even doggy clean up bags available.

While this dog off-leash area is fully fenced please note dogs that have been declared dangerous or menacing are not allowed in this area.

Touch Park Facilities

At the south end of the park is a carpark and public toilets for the convenience of parking and for those accessing the yellow arrow walking trail.

However, if you are taking a walking trail up the Mount Whitfield Conservation Park please leave pups at home — dogs aren’t allowed on these trails.
